Richard M. Nixon
Richard Milhous Nixon, congressman, senator, vice president and president, got his start in politics as Student Body General Manager and Constitutional Orator at Whittier High School in Whittier, California. He graduated in 1930 and soon proceeded to set the all-time standard for paranoia in public office.
Ironically, many of his greatest conspiratorial moments are preserved for the ages on secret recordings that he himself made. These tapes, of course, eventually led to his 1974 resignation in the Watergate scandal. Fortunately, the disgraced chief executive committed his peculiar thoughts about a TV sitcom and homosexuality to audio posterity before his jig was up. And, thanks to YouTube, you don't have to go to the National Archives to listen to Nixon rant about All in the Family - you can do it from the comfort of your own home just by clicking here.
