Joseph I. Lieberman

Joseph I. Lieberman graduated from Stamford High School in Connecticut in 1960. He attended Yale University for his undergraduate and law degrees. After a stint practicing law, he eventually entered his long career in politics that has included a run for vice president on the 2000 Democratic Ticket with Al Gore. Although Senator Lieberman prides himself on his national security and military affairs credentials, he avoided service in the armed forces thanks to educational and family deferments.

He is best known today for his insufferable sanctimony (in 1998 he took to the floor of the Senate to denounce President Bill Clinton for his affair with Monica Lewinsky), droning speech pattern and slavish fealty to Senator John McCain.
